Project Description :
For this installation, the studio wanted to experiment with digital fabrication in order to create a series of forms that expand outward from one centerpoint. The viewer, being at the center, can observe and meander through each shape, observing its variety in scale, texture, height, and repetition.
Observing the principles of architecture in the context of a form that does not follow practical function is an ongoing theme in the work of Calle Studio. To remove the utilitarian rules of architecture leaves us with the most simple idea of architecture, which is the form itself.
Here at ArtSup, the removal of solid ground as a foundation and base permits form to be witnessed instead of critiqued.
