Project Description :
These sculptures were built using reclaimed wood found around the city of Mami Beach and North Bay Village. Pieces of 2 x 4's that were once used on docks, patio pergolas, and an outdoor table, now repurposed for a sculpture at a music festival on one of Miami's historic Beaches.
The design pays homage to a style of architecture that exist within the urban landscape of MIami's downtown area. Brutalism can be found in many of the municipal buildings throughout Dade - County.
The architectural details of these sculptures are its repetitive modular elements, angular geometries, and unfinished textures, in contrast to the very soft and sandy beach of Key Biscayne. They sparked the curiosity of many attendees at the music festval that wondered how it ended up along the shore.
